Explorer Scouting at District #3 in the late 90's was operated in conjunction with the existing Auxiliary Unit run by Officer Latunya Meredith. In the year 2000 however, new life was breathed into Post #883. The new Community Liaison Officer, PO Elijah Williams, took a more direct interest in scouting and into improving the program at District #3.
Post #883 grew from its meager beginnings, to a force of almost 60 Scouts at one point. In fact, between May of 2005 and April of 2006 Post #883 had 85 active Explorer Scouts. Due to the efforts of PO Williams, Post #883 was considered by most to be the shining example of scouting in the Milwaukee Police Department. It was also due to the diligence of Officer Williams, that Post #883 benefited from new and more modern uniforms, superior training and community notoriety.
Today, District #3's proud Explorer Scouting tradition continues under the command of Captain Christopher Domagalski. Post #883 is supervised by its Program Advisor, CLO Derrick Lemmie. It is his mission to aid the members of Post #883 in their quest to become successful and productive members of society, whether their futures lie in law enforcement or elsewhere.
